Basic Site Setup

Set Up The Homepage

As we have multiple Home pages, you may choose any of the pages as your homepage by following these simple steps.

To set a custom page as homepage:

  • go to Settings - Reading
  • select a Static Page option
  • choose your page from the drop-down list


Create the Menu

  • go to Appearance - Menus
  • create a new menu and name it Main Menu
  • add pages to your menu from the Pages Panel on the left
  • select Primary as Display location and Save the menu

Set up the Header

The Axtra theme offers a variety of 10 distinct header options, each of which can be utilized with ease. 

To access these options, navigate to the "Axtra Options" section within the "Appearance" menu. In the "Header Settings" area, you will be presented with 10 header variations to choose from. Furthermore, each header can be modified to use either a light or dark version. Should you select a header, you will have the ability to make adjustments from the bottom of the page. If you encounter any uneditable elements, kindly check the designated widget area.

Logo Setup

  1. Navigate to the "Axtra Options" within the "Appearance" menu.
  2. In the "Logo Settings," you will have the opportunity to upload various types of logos, including a logo for the canvas menu, one for the dark version, and one for the light version.
  3. From this location, you can define the height and width of the logo as desired.

Important: to avoid any display issues, make sure your logo files:

  • don't have extra margins (white space); it's recommended to crop the file to artwork bounds
  • are saved as transparent PNG (or PNG 24)
  • have appropriate dimensions (display height shouldn't exceed header height); this is to avoid slow loading times
  • the recommended size is 3x the actual display size; for example, if the desired logo size is 120x30px, upload a file of 360x90px; this way, your logo will look crisp even on HiDPI devices (latest phones and tablets)

Tip: There are dozens of settings in Theme Options and scrolling through them could be slow at first, that's why we introduced the search bar on top. Try it out!
